Is Netanyahu a liar?

In November 2011 at the G-20 summit the president of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, told President Obama that Netanyahu was a liar and Obama did not disagree.
There have been numerous cases in the recent past where Netanyahu has made statements calculated to appease the rest of the world but then he has gone ahead and acted contrary to what he said. Netanyahu's current government, and previous Israeli governments, have broken many promises to halt West Bank settlements. Not being faithful to a promise is not a lie unless the person making the promise never intended to keep the promise. From the actions of Netanyahu it seems obvious that when he made such promises he never intended to do what he promised. That is a lie!
Before I continue, I am a Caucasian USA citizen and I do not have any ties to the Palestinians or any other Middle Eastern country. I have lived in the Middle East and have toured and visited close Jewish friends in Israel so I feel I have a little insight into the mentality of both sides. I strongly disapprove of the many terrorist acts committed by the Palestinians. Their terrorism has been the wrong way to achieve peace and a Palestinian state. I would like to see Israel survive and prosper but I feel that it is Israel, not the Palestinians, that hold the key to peace.
Continuing to expand West Bank settlements and building new ones is, I think, the biggest obstacle to peace in the Middle East. There is about zero chance of peace between Israel and the Palestinians unless the Palestinians can include the West Bank in a Palestinian state. If the Israeli government ever has any intentions of peace existing they never would have built settlements in the West Bank. Netanyahu's actions seem to clearly indicate that he, and previous Israeli leaders, obviously never intended to allow the existence of a state for the Palestinians.
I am not anti-Semitic or pro-Palestinian, but ever since the state of Israel was founded in 1948 the Israeli government has treated the Palestinians extremely badly. History as taught in our schools leads one to believe that the Jews properly paid the Palestinians for their properties and peacefully helped them resettle in the West Bank. Some Palestinians were paid for their land but for the most part Palestinians were forcefully expelled from Israel and their land was taken without payment and given to new Jewish immigrants. The Palestinians were lied to and treated terribly. If you want to know the true early history of Israel read the book "The Lemon Tree" by Sandy Toland. It is a very good read and will give you an honest perspective on the early history of Israel. The book will give you a better in-depth perspective but you can also watch the movie by the same name. By the way, Sandy Toland is Jewish so it is not a disgruntled Palestinian view. While the Palestinian terrorism is not justified, the book/movie will show you why the Palestinians hate and distrust Israel so much.
Instead of forcing Israel to take the proper steps toward peace, the United States has aided and abetted Israel allowing them continue to prevent peace in the Middle East. If it had not been for the continuing conflict between Israel and the Palestinians you would likely have never heard about Osama Bin Laden and the twin towers would still be standing tall. The Israel-Palestinian conflict was a primary irritation to Osama Bin Laden. Yes, I blame Israel for the 9-11 tragedy and resulting Iraq and Afghanistan war. If Israel had treated the residents in area that become Israel better and truly wanted peace we would not be in the mess we are in today.
While Israel is primarily responsible for the conflict in the Middle East, the Jewish lobby in the United States is also responsible. I believe that most of our presidents would have liked to, and could have, forced Israel to deal properly with the Palestinians but the Jewish lobby is so strong that none of them dared to do, or say, anything against Israel. Since World War II the United States has given more financial aid to Israel than any other country. Current USA financial aid to Israel is about 3 billion each year. That does not include private financial aid which has been estimated at about 1.5 billion a year. Israel would not have been able to do what they have done without all of this financial aid. They would have had to figure out how to get along with the Palestinians!
Before I visited Israel I assumed that the vast majority of Jews in Israel supported the government. I was surprised to find that our friends who lived there disagreed, one supported the government, the other did not. That was some years back but Israeli polls over the years have indicated that often only about half, or less, agree with how the country is being governed. A November 2011 poll showed that Netanyahu's popularity was down to about 30%. If the majority of Jews in Israel do not agree with their governments performance, why is the USA giving their government billions of dollars every year to support their ill-advised actions! Our financial support represents a huge influence that could be used to force the Israeli government to do the right thing.
